Kwanua's fitness journey began ten years ago while working as a Brand Manager for a Media company. She would leave the office every day and hit the gym for her daily fitness fix. Under the guidance of her Pilates Instructor & Personal Trainer, Kwanua grew stronger, faster, more flexible and felt great!
Inspired by the changes in her own body and determined to live a more balanced lifestyle Kwanua decided to leave her corporate job so she could start helping people improve their health and wellness.
She became a Personal Trainer, then went on to certify as a Pilates Instructor. The self-described fitness fanatic, developed a simple, yet powerful approach for training. Combining Strength Training, Pilates equipment and mat work and dynamic cardio drills, Kwanua designs custom programs for individuals and corporate groups.
Kwanua lives and works in SOMA and is developing her own brand. PowerPlaySF an active ‘play space’ where children and adults can come to train, nourish, and evolve.
Kwanua is making the fitness lifestyle accessible to clients by providing classes at a number of condos and offices in the SOMA area. When she’s not working Kwanua loves cuddling with 1 year old Kaila rough housing with her two ‘boys’ husband Avery and 4 (and a half) year old Kaiden.
She has coordinated a variety of similar wellness events for companies including Pandora, Rally, Lucy Activewear and See Jane Run
From 2010 – 2014, she served as Director of Marketing for a boutique fitness company with six locations in the Bay Area. Her responsibilities included cross-company event planning with other wellness companies which has fostered her strong network with local vendors.
Kwanua has served as a personal trainer and fitness instructor since 2009, providing corporate classes and services to a variety of companies, including Hearsay Social, located in China Basin
She holds a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Iowa, is an ACEand NASM certified Personal Trainer as well as an ITT certified Pilates Instructor Mat & Equipment.
Sarah is a former primary school teacher with a specialist degree in Childhood Education and Developmental Psychology.
You can catch Sarah around San Francisco following her passion for education by teaching children's music and art classes with PowerPlay SF, and working on her EdTech startup. She's also likely to be spotted going for jogs along a sunny street, sipping far too much coffee, and monkeying around at a playground with her 2-year old daughter.
Bernadette Quattrone is an early childhood educator who specializes in the arts. She has taught music, visual art, drama and storytelling to children of all ages for over 15 years.
Bernadette received a Masters in Early Childhood Education from New York University and spent 8 years as a preschool teacher and administrator.
